The new line of tractor models is described by improved technical, economic and operational characteristics, extensive use of foreign components and extended basic list of components. The Series Ê 9000 Kirovets tractors are equipped with Mercedes-Benz OM 4457 LA diesel engines with a power range from 265 kWt to 335 kWt (350-450 hp). The fuel tank volume is circa 960 liters. The hydromechanical gearbox of the K 9360, K 9400 and K 9430 tractors provides for shifting gears without affecting the engine’s power. The K 9450 model is equipped with a US-made Twin Disc transmission. The hydraulic system of these vehicles is equipped with a pump having a capacity of 190 l/min at 1800 rpm of the engine and 5 pairs of working hydraulic outputs; it has a free flush option and drainage into the water tank from the hydro engine of the trailed implement. Three-point suspension has a VOM and pendulum trailer device. Also, series K 9000 tractors are supplied with good cross-country capability. Deluxe cabin is equipped with air conditioner with a climate control function, GPS system and a video camera for viewing the trailer implement. By a set of its parameters and the price – consumer properties – productivity ratio the new Kirovets tractors can successfully compete with best foreign counterparts. Factory tests were finished for two escalators of a tunnel type, made by OAO “Kirovskiy Zavod” for Chinese People’s Republic. Escalators are provided for man-riding in a unique museum, which will be located under water. At the 17th International Specialized Exhibition “Belagro-2007” the enterprise presented two new serial tractors, and at a traditional International Agricultural exhibition “Agritechnica-2007” in Hannover – products in a segment of heavy wheeled tractor and self-moving fodder-harvesting combines. Today production of OAO “Kirovskiy Zavod” is delivered to more than 20 countries of the world, export volume by the results of 2007 increased in comparison to 2006 by 17% and came up to 96,3 mln. dollars. At the meeting of the Board of a Group of companies there were defined main directions of an investment program for 2008 with a total volume of about 2,7 bln rubles. It is supposed to invest into the construction of a new foundry, which will be finished in 2009, about 1,7 bln rubles, of which 710 mln roubles already in 2008. It is supposed, that enterprise will work not only with Russian but also with foreign customers, among which are markets of Finland and Germany. One of the priority investment projects is also a reconstruction and technical upgrading of tractor production. This event has determined further development of the factory enabling OAO “Kirovsky zavod” to overcome all the hardships and turn into one of the largest machine-building enterprises in the North-West region. By the 90s of XX century economic progress of the country has reached the line where socialist methods of management became totally outdated. Inevitability of changes became apparent. However together with economic conversion many enterprises were influenced by painful processes: conversion, severe reduction of public contracts, unreasonable rise of prices on power resources, raw materials, constituent parts, unprecedented inflation, nonpayment crisis and exhaustion of floating assets as a result. OAO “Kirovsky zavod” was also under the threat of economic failure. Understanding that it impossible to survive in modern conditions on the market having centralized control system economists of the department of technical and economical planning and labour management headed by Director General G.P. Semenenko started developing a new ideology – economic motivation of transforming centralized control system into decentralized accompanied by organization of self-supporting complexes. Apart from G.P. Semenenko V.P. Skatin, A.P. Zavyalov, N.S. Miroshnichenko, A.N. Krikunov, M.Z. Shapovalov, V.P. Soldatov and many others made a great contribution to establishment of OAO. They carried on organization and explanatory work, laid foundations for providing stability of the enterprise in such complicated economic environment of the 1990s. Their activity resulted in registration of joint-stock company “Kirovsy zavod” in registration chamber of the city hall of Saint-Petersburg on the 5th of November 1992. For the moment of registration 64 thousand individuals and about 50 legal entities became owners of the factory. Tactics developed by management of OAO “Kirovsky zavod” suggested fast creation of ramified system of profit-centres. By the end of 1993 there were 68 self-supporting complexes. Owing to this OAO “Kirovsky zavod” managed to create stable enterprise system resisting market fluctuations that allowed to keep the most valuable manufacturing facilities of the factory in working condition. As the result of fifteen years of development and improvement the management of OAO “Kirovsky zavod” is perfectly ready to search and find answers for challenges of modern market, to start integration into international economy. Financial performance of OAO “Kirovsky zavod” has a steady growth trend. The debt load of the company is on the low level that gives an opportunity to increase gearing smoothly to finance investment activity. Investment program of OAO “Kirovsky zavod” is supposed for the period of 2007-2011, it includes a number of large projects including development of the port area, reconstruction of the Petersburg tractor factory, and construction of an iron foundry near Saint-Petersburg. On this year exhibition Golden Autumn OAO “Kirovsky zavod” will intriduce the latest samples of its agricultural machinery. Since summer of the present year the enterprise has started using a new system of sales for tractors manufactured by the factory. During the last decade activity related to system-based sales of tractor machinery of “Kirovets” brand was performed in cooperation with ZAO “Agrotehmash”. In the summer 2007 the parties reached an agreement concerning alterations of a form of cooperation. As part of the present agreement the company “Agrotehmash” will continue to manufacture tractors of K-3000 and K-5000 ATM series and promote them at the market independently. “OAO “Kirovsky zavod” has started broadening its lineup and creating its own sales pattern in order to activate marketing policy and provide direct contacts with consumers” – Director General of OAO “Kirovsky zavod” G.P. Semenenko explains. Today tractors K-744 of “R”series are the leaders of the tractor lineup manufactured by ZAO “Peterburgskiy traktorniy zavod”, a subsidiary of OAO “Kirovsky zavod”. Being unique in Russia these are modern and economy-type wheeled tractors for general service with engines of 250, 300, 350, 390 h.p. which form together with legendary K-700 and K-701 the basis of heavy plowing tractors park of the majority of Russian agricultural enterprises. Visitors will be able to see the most powerful home-produced wheeled tractor – “Kirovets” K-744R3 with engine of 420 h.p. on a stand of OAO “Kirovsky zavod” at the exhibition Golden autumn. Universality of this machine is provided not only by high drawbar category but also by up-to-date hydraulic system. During the last year geographical expansion of activity of the enterprise became an important line of promotion of agricultural machinery of OAO “Kirovsky zavod”. Thus in December 2006 OAO “Kirovsky zavod” established a subsidiary “NPP “Voronezhskiy zavod ekskavatorov” LLC within the framework of the Program of revival of the Voronezh excavator plant. Foundation of joint venture with “Ivolga-Holding” Co. Ltd. (Kazakhstan) aimed at manufacturing tractors “Kirovets” was announced in March 2007. To the end of this year 90 tractors will be assembled within the framework of this project and 250 tractors in the next year. Competitive tests of Burler and Kirovets tractors were held this summer in Amursk region; preference was given to Kirovets. Even now more than 20 machines have already been delivered and delivery of 100 machines will be completed within five months. In October a joint venture “Kavkaz Holding-Kirovskiy zavod” LLC was registered in Baku. As a part of the policy aimed at approaching regional markets OAO “Kirovsky zavod” started collaborating with the Republic of Tatarstan. Keys from two tractors “Kirovets-744R3” are to be given to OAO “Vamintatarstan”, agricultural holding from the Republic of Tatarstan, and that will become a special event of the exhibition Golden Autumn. This ceremony will be held on the 15th of October on the stand of OAO “Kirovsky zavod”. In spring 2005 OAO “Vamintatarstan” bought 25 tractors “Kirovets-744R2”. Machinery delivered to Tatarstan showed itself at its best and both parties decided to continue their cooperation. In September 2007 within the framework of republican support program for producers of agricultural goods they signed delivery contract that specified delivery of 20 tractors “Kirovets-744R3” to the holding “Vamintatarstan”. According to the terms of the support program equal shares of the contract sum are to be paid by OAO “Vamintatarstan” and Ministry of agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan. Representatives of the management of OAO “Vamintatarstan” and ZAO “Peterburgskiy traktorniy zavod” subsidiary of OAO “Kirovsky zavod” will take part in the ceremony. High-grade, economy, manoeuvrable fodder harvesting combine E-281 “Maral-125” will also be presented at exposition of agricultural machinery of OAO “Kirovsky zavod”. “Maral-125” of a new modified arrangement carries on traditions of fodder harvesting combine E-281 which we bought in Germany for a long time. Serial production of this machine was started in this spring.
