On July 3 through 7 2008 in Belgorod Oblast a demo exhibition Russian Field Day 2008 is due to take place where ZAO Peterburg Tractor Work, a subsidiary of OAO Kirov Works, will for the first time introduce 4 new models of Kirovets tractors: K 9360, K 9400, K 9430 and K 9450 all parts of the K 9000 series.

On June 4 2008, a grand sports event entitled “Sports and Health” dedicated to the 207th anniversary of the Kirov Works took place. The Kyrov Works Olympics that traditionally opens the summer sports season is annually convened by the Kirovets Sports Club jointly with the Kirovskiy rayon administration. This year, over 2.5 thousand persons including not only workers of the Kirov Works OAO, but also many residents of the Narva Outliers.

On June 4, a traditional summer sports fest is to take place at the Kirovets Stadium (Perekopskaya Street, 6/8) dedicated to the 207th Anniversary of Putilov/Kirov Works. The event will be attended by the workers of the Kirov Works and its subsidiaries and their family members. The summer Olympics have been held at the Works for 80 years already and are very popular with the Kirov workers: the number of participants in 2007 made over 2000 persons.

On Saturday, May 24, the Kirov Works has in a festive setting celebrated the 207th anniversary from the day of its foundation. The honored guests of the festival were the leaders of the city and rayon administration, Saint Petersburg Legislative Assembly, business community members, high level military commanders, commanders of the partner military units and institutions, famous people of Saint Petersburg and factory veterans. But the main participants to the Day of the Works were traditionally the Kirov workers themselves and their family members. From the very morning, a motley crowd had filled the factory premises decorated in a festive way.

The Kirov works is arranging a traditional festival dedicated to the anniversary of the company’s foundation. On that year the workers, their family members will celebrate the Day of the Works of May 24.

At the 12th International Exhibition MiningWorld Russia: Mining Equipment: Mining and Enrichment of Ores and Minerals that took place in Moscow on April 16-18, the Kirov Works has become the winner of the Golden Miner of the Year award. The prestigious award has been conferred on ZAO Petersburg Tractor Works, which is a subsidiary of the Kirov Works OAO in the Best Novelty of the Year nomination for the development and implementation in production of the Kirovets 3060 forklift. This victory is especially valuable since this year over 180 companies from 20 countries of the world took part in that largest sectoral exhibition that brings together professionals of mining industry and presents a full range of goods and services of the mining industry.
