The Kirov works is arranging a traditional festival dedicated to the anniversary of the company’s foundation. On that year the workers, their family members will celebrate the Day of the Works of May 24.
A special feature of this celebration of the Kirov workers will be the exhibit of the military machinery and weapons including an air defense missile system C-300 in which creation the Kirov Works specialists have been taking part immediately and different samples of tanks and armored vehicles and firearms. In the framework of the celebration a demonstration of the machinery produced by the Kirov Works OAO will take place. For the attention of the Kirov Workers and guests of the festival will be presented the agriculture Kirovets tractors K-744R2 and K-744R3 and fodder combine harvester E-281 Maral-125 that have already gained good reputation in the nation’s fields and a wheeled excavator VEKS-20K produced by the Voronezh excavator factory as well as the last development of the Petersburg Tractor Factory, Kirovets 3060 forklift which has won the prize Golden Miner of the Year in the Nomination Best Novelty of 2007 at the 12th International Exhibition MiningWorld Russia: Mining Equipment: Mining and Enrichment of Ores and Minerals.
Heads of the city and rayon administration and Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg have been invited to the event as honorary guests along with representatives of business community, high-ranking military commanders, commanders of the partner military units and institutions, prominent people of Saint Petersburg and veterans of the works have been invited to the ceremony as honored guests.
This year the spectators will see a concert by creative collectives from the I.I. Gaz Culture and Creativity Center along with variety show artists from Saint Petersburg and Fontanka Circus and participants to the Kirov Works Creativity Festival. For the little ones entertainment rides, “merry trampolines” and autodrome will be working, sports games and contests ill be organized as well as performance by the mimes from the Mimigrants theatre. The creativity of the Kirov workers will be seen at the exhibition Kirov Craftsmen Shop, where the creativity works of applied art will be displayed.
In the course of the official part the attendees will be welcomed by G.P. Semenenko, Director General of Kirov Works OAO, representatives of Saint Petersburg administration and honored guests of the festival. The ceremonies for conferring the awards of Distinguished Kirov Worker, Honorary Veteran of the Kirov Works and announcement of the winner of Kirov Works Prize will take place. The best young specialists will be conferred the signs “To Young Kirov Worker for Good Work Performance.” The ceremony will end with a parade of the machinery produced by Kirov Works OAO and the partner military units and military orchestras.
Once the festive part is over, a concert by Mikhail Boayrskiy, a Distinguished Artist of Russia will take place in the central square. Upon the completion of the day of the works the guests of the festival will be able to take part in the lottery where the main prize will be a VAZ 21054 car.
For the first time the Kirov workers have started to celebrate the Day of the Works in 1988. Today’s festival is continuing this tradition of many years. On this day the collective of the works is displaying its achievements in the industrial and social domain, while the best workers are getting deserved awards. The Kirov workers accept congratulations from the company managers, representatives of the government, industrial, academic and cultural elite of the city and nation, public figures and military commanders.
The day of Kirov works is a bright and impressive event in the life of Saint Petersburg and a visible proof of the corporate loyalty of Kirov workers and the integral connection between the works and the city.
